I think the classical music community needs more good listeners. The students of Lisa Kovalik's class will become at least good listeners of classical music, even if they do not become a proffessional player. They can also lead amateur listeners to better musics. The story about Lisa was very interesting to me.
I love your site. It will be a pleasure to visit in the future.

Thank you for this wonderful post. The Juilliard Evening Division is one of the great treasures of New York City.

I have taken the composition classes most semesters since fall 2007 and enjoyed it immensely. I think one of the fruits of this class and the hard work it motivated to do in composition was to present my portfolio to the head professor of a graduate composition department and he thought my work was at some of his students' level.

The two composition teachers there are Conrad Cummings and Jonathan Dawe - both professional, active composers.

I also would like to rave about Dr Emily White's Keyboard Harmony class. Unfortunately it is not offered this year.

Finally, the Juilliard Eve Divisions is expected to meet the standards of the undergraduate college.
