I think there’s room for the broad spectrum of tunings that exist across the planet, not to mention to noise, timbre, and purely textural sounds. To run with your analogy, why limit yourself to just one or two courses a meal?

Usually the things in nature are there so that intelligent man can bring them to a higher, more useful and enjoyable level.
