Don’t judge me.
Yes, I’ve seen this before. Many times. Many many times. Sure, I bootlegged the soundtrack before it was commercially available (then I bought it). Yes, I bought this when it came out on iTunes and then again on DVD. Yes, I bought the soundtrack for Commentary – The Musical and listen to that more often than I listen to Dr. Horrible proper. Yes, it is only 45 minutes long. But it was a tough week for time and I was not sure what else to do.
AND! My 7 year old daughter hadn’t seen it. She’s heard the music, she has vague ideas of who he/Captain Hammer is and such. She obsessed on Felicia Day for a while (Ms. Day was in Daria’s roster of “imaginary sisters” ever since the “Do You Want to Date my Avatar” video). So we sat down and watched it. Not quite her thing, really, a lot of it went over her head a bit. The biggest thing she took away from watching it was Captain Hammer was wearing gloves while eating his soup!
So there. I have DVDs of Falstaff and Manon kicking around. Falstaff is more appealing. I might watch that this week.
