Midtown Sound on Saturday, October 14th features NYC composers who are neither Uptown nor Downtown, but somewhere in-between. Everyone is always talking about “Uptown” this and “Downtown” that what does it all mean? Find out on October 14th when AME presents works by New York’s best composers, including Adam Silverman‘s RicochetJames Matheson‘s Pound for solo piano, Joseph Pehrson‘s Levitation for viola and piano and a new work by Robert Paterson entitled The Thin Ice of Your Fragile Mind. We will also perform recent works by two Pulitzer Prize winning composers: Melinda Wagner ‘s Wick, an exciting, tour de force for chamber ensemble and Paul Moravec‘s thrilling Scherzo for Piano Trio. Finally, we are including two works by John Cage and Milton Babbitt just for dynamic contrast!
Join us for a wine reception to follow and meet the composers and artists.
