American composer Judith Lang Zaimont’s Wizards, Three Magic Masters and Jupiter’s Moons will be performed by pianist Janet Norman as part of her concert on Saturday, July 21, 7:00 PM at Steinway of Phoenix, 14418 N. Scottsdale Rd in Scottsdale, Arizona. She will also present music of Prokofiev.

Wizards, an 8 minute 30 second piece for solo piano in three movements, was commissioned for the November 2003 San Antonio International Piano Competition and was a required work for that competition, where it was given 12 premiere performances. It is published by Vivace Press, Inc. and was recorded to great critical acclaim by Young-Ah Tak for Albany Records.

Jupiter’s Moons, in six movements, is a 19 minute Millennium commission from Focus on Piano Literature 2000. It was first performed by Paul Stewart at Focus on Piano Literature 2000, University of North Carolina – Greensboro. The piece is published by Vivace Press and has been recorded by Joanne Polk for Albany Records.
