New York, NY,The Young Eight string octet will be in concert on Wednesday, July 18, Thursday, July 19 and Friday, July 20, 8 PM each evening at The Barn at Prairie Pines, 4055 N Tyler Road in Maize, Kansas.

Selections for these concerts will be Lyric for Strings by George Walker, African Rhapsody for String Octet by Michael Mikulka (b. 1985 – Third Place Winner of The Young Eight Emerging Composers Competition), Conch Shells Memories for Double String Quartet by Robert Tanner (b. 1973 – Second Place Winner of The Young Eight Emerging Composers Competition) Hip Hop Experience arr. by Patrick Grant (b. 1965) and Introduction and Allegro, op. 47 by Edward Elgar.
