American Landmark Festivals Presents The Sonora Trio on November 28 at Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace in Manhattan

American Landmark Festivals presents the Sonora Trio in concert on Saturday, November 28, 2 PM at the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, 28 East 20th Street in Manhattan.
The Trio, consisting of pianist/ composer/vocalist Judith Sainte Croix, flutist Andrew Bolotowsky and guitarist Oren Fader will present Oeuvres Nouveaux (New Works) a program of compositions by six American composers. This concert, the second in the American Landmark Festivals Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace series in 2009-2010, opens with the première of Costa Rican Suite by Ms. Sainte Croix, a work evoking natural images of the jungle and an indigenous Brunka mask, followed by Chimera, a solo for electric guitar by New York composer Brian Coughlin. In addition to works by Kim D. Sherman, Ron Kozak and Jim Theobald, the program will feature a work by Ms. Sainte Croix inspired by the poetry of Netsilik Inuit shaman Uvuvnuk, Arctic Wind, conceived for alto flutist Andrew Bolotowsky, and performed to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s voyages to North America.
The concert will conclude with a special appearance by Mark DeGarmo and Dancers, performing a dance segment from the opera which he and Sainte Croix are currently developing.

Andrew Bolotowsky plays flutes from every era and corner of the world, has given over 3000 recitals, many featuring works composed expressly for him, and has made numerous recordings of Baroque and contemporary music.
A highly regarded performer of classical guitar repertoire, Oren Fader (http://www.orenfader.com/) has premièred over 150 solo and chamber works by composers such as Milton Babbitt, Charles Wuorinen and Tod Machover.
