Chamber Music of Meira Warshauer Presented at NACUSA Southeast Chapter Concert on November 22 in Coral Gables, Florida
Posted by s21concerts in Concert Announcement
Meira Warshauer’s Bracha for violin and piano will be part of a National Association of Composers USA-Southeast Chapter’s Fall concert on Sunday, November 22, 6 PM at Steinway Hall, 4104 Ponce de Leon Blvd. in Coral Gables, Florida.
Bracha is a musical interpretation of the Jewish concept of blessing. The Hebrew word, bracha, is related to breicha, which means pool of water, or flowing stream. In this composition, it is interpreted as a stream of Divine goodness flowing downward into the world. The piece has been recorded twice – by violinist Meira Silverstein and the composer on piano for the Kol Meira label and by violinist Laura Kobayashi and pianist Susan Keith Gray for Albany.
Other composers on the program include Yoko Hamabe Wylegala, Sylvia Constantinidis, Doron Kima, Clare Shore, Joe Alexander, Douglas Ovens, Chris Jancarz, Peter Blauvelt, Wieslaw Rentowski and Stephen Yip.
