Latin American Cultural Week 2009 Opens on November 9 with Latin American Piano Festival at World Financial Center Winter Garden

Latin American Cultural Week 2009 will open with Latin American Piano Festival on Monday, November 9 – 12 to 2 PM at the Winter Garden of the World Financial Center, 220 Vesey Street in Manhattan.
This piano festival, presented by Pan American Musical Art Research and arts>World Financial Center, will feature Uruguay’s Polly Ferman, American Allison Brewster Franzetti, Mexican Max Lifchitz, Argentina’s Octavio Brunetti (with guitarist Adam Tully) and Argentina’s Carlos Franzetti. They will present Latin American repertory, ranging from nationalistic to classical and contemporary, to jazz and tango solos, pieces for 2 pianos, as well as 4 and 8 hand pieces. Also participating are tango dancers Karina Romero and Dardo Galetto.

The fourth annual Latin American Cultural Week (LACW), presented by PAMAR (Pan American Musical Art Research, Polly Ferman, Director) from November 9 through 22, will celebrate the wide range of Latin American dance, music, theater, literature, and visual arts with presentations at venues throughout New York City.
