JoelleWAn evening of the chamber music of Joelle Wallach, including two World Premieres, will be presented on Thursday, February 4, 7:30 PM at Memorial Chapel of Sweet Briar College, 134 Chapel Road in Sweet Briar, Virginia. This, along with several recent lectures, is part of her current Residency at the College.

Concert repertoire includes World Premieres of Runes and Ritual for piano quartet, commissioned and performed by The James Piano Quartet and The Dream of Now, six reflective songs for baritone and piano. Other works include Ms. Wallach’s A Pussycat Love Song, Daughters of Silence, eight songs about the experiences of women and A Firefighter’s Prayer for baritone and strings.

Performers will be Anna Billias, piano, Melisa Barick, soprano, Edward Mikenas, double bass, Claudia Patacca, soprano, Nicholas Szucs, violin, Sinan Vural, baritone and The James Piano Quartet – Jana Ross, violin, Wesley Baldwin, cello, Joseph Nigro, viola and Nick Ross, piano.
