DanBarrett609The International Street Cannibals and guest artists, including dancers and non-Western instrumentalists, will present Dem Wazoos d’Avignon, a From the Holding Tank series concert on Wednesday, March 10, 8:30 PM at St Mark’s in-the-Bowery, 131 East 10th Street (at 2nd Ave.) in Manhattan.

The concert event will feature the New York Premiere of Gene Pritsker’s Electrically Tragic, for bassoon and Samplestra, performed by soloist Martin Kuuskmaan, along with brief wind quintets by John Clark, Dan Cooper, and Gene Pritsker, Schumann’s arrangements of J.S. Bach’s unaccompanied Partitas, electric arrangements of original funk pieces by Melanie Mitrano and Dan “Wotan” Barrett’s arrangement of a proto-punk tune by The Modern Lovers’ Jonathan Richman.

ISC performers will be John Clark, French horn, Paul Lieberman, flute, Dan Barrett, Leo Grinhaus and Joanne Lin, celli, Vesselin Gellev, solo violin, Javier Diaz, Afro-Cuban percussion, Gene Pritsker, electric guitar, Dan Cooper, 7-string electric bass, Michiyo Suzuki, clarinet, Keve Wilson, oboe, Martin Kuuskmaan and Michael Rabinowitz, bassoons and Dan Barrett, conductor, with choreography and dance by Megan Sipe.
