Greenwich House Arts Presents Second Concert of Women’s Work 2010 Series, March 10 at Greenwich House Music School in Manhattan

Greenwich House Arts will present Faces of Eve, the second Women’s Work 2010 concert, hosted by Beth Anderson, on Wednesday, March 10, 8 PM in the Renee Weiler Concert Hall at Greenwich House Music School, 46 Barrow Street (between Seventh Avenue South and Bedford St.) in Manhattan. The 2010 series, with works chosen by the presenting performers, will explore recent flute, vocal and chamber music by prominent contemporary women composers from Asia, the Americas and Europe.
In the March 10 concert, music by Adrienne Albert, Lera Auerbach, Mary Lynn Place Badarak, Margaret Bonds, Mary M. Boyle, Lydia Busler-Blais, Chen Yi, Thea Musgrave, Deon Nielsen Price, Sharon J. Willis, and Carol Worthey will be presented, including five World Premieres, four New York Premieres, and one American Premiere.
Performers will be Mary Au, piano; Hester Taylor, violin; Jordan James, horn; Berkeley A. Price, clarinet; Arietha Lockhart, soprano and Mara Waldman, narrator. Several of the composers will speak prior to the performances.
The March 24 Women’s Work concert is Dreams – three World Premieres and one New York Premiere, presented by Airi Yoshioka, violin, John Novacek, piano and Wendy Salkind, actress, and with several of the composers speaking before the presentation of their works.
Admission to the March 10 concert is $15 general, $10 for students and seniors, with tickets available at the door starting at 7:30 PM.
