American composer David Winkler’s Double Concerto for Two Violins and Chamber Orchestra will be given its World Premiere by violinists Anna Rabinova and Dmitri Berlinsky, and the Long Island Mozart Festival Chamber Orchestra, led by Daniel Boico, as part of the Long Island Mozart Festival Mainstage concert on Sunday, May 16 – 2:00 PM at Old Westbury Gardens, 71 Old Westbury Road in Old Westbury, New York.
The composer’s new Double Concerto is in three movements and utilizes the same instrumentation as the Bach Double. It was composed in honor of the 50th Anniversary celebration of Old Westbury Gardens this year. Other works on the program are a Mozart Divertimento, J.S. Bach’s Double Violin Concerto and Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nacht Muzik
Lawn seating for the May 16 concert is $10 for general, $8 for seniors (over 62) and children $5 (7-17), and 6 and under are free. Prices include the main stage concert and all ancillary activities for that day. Tickets can be purchased at Old Westbury Gardens on the day of the concert. Festival parking is free.
