Argento invites you to the Moving Sounds Festival, September 2-5, 2010

Moving Sounds is a 4-day festival of music, visual media, and aesthetic dialogue. Through concerts and symposia, the festival explores sound and its musical and societal implications.

Following last year’s highly successful festival, Moving Sounds 2010 continues its investigation of sonic phenomena by pairing contemporary music with electronic performances. Argento will give world premieres of works by Austrian composers Georg Friedrich Haas and Bernhard Lang. Concerts will also feature Austrian guitarist and electronic sound artist Christian Fennesz, Japanese-American acousmatic composer Steven Takasugi, and Austrian alternative singer-songwriter Soap&Skin. Bridging the electronic and acoustic worlds, Argento will also perform the world premiere of American composer Ed Campion’s concerto for the new electronic instrument, the Yamaha AvantGrand.

Events take place at the Austrian Cultural Forum, Le Poisson Rouge, and the Czech Center. For the full festival schedule, visit www.argentomusic.org/movingsounds.
