American Composers Orchestra

American Composers Orchestra’s coLABoratory: Playing It UNsafe is the first and only professional research and development lab to support the creation of cutting-edge American orchestral music through no-holds-barred experimentation, encouraging composers to do anything but “play it safe.” Composers Du Yun, Troy Herion, Raymond J. Lustig, Judith Sainte Croix, and Dan Visconti have worked with ACO for six months to create new music that incorporates multimedia elements and film, unorthodox instruments, performances with musicians in other countries via Google Hangouts, and that utilizes vintage Speak & Spell toys and other obsolete analog devices as instruments. See and hear the results on April 5 at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall.

Tickets: $40/$50 at Carnegie Hall.
