Judith Lang Zaimont

Goldi’s Wish, an ariette for soprano and piano by Judith Lang Zaimont will be presented by soprano Jenny Greene on Sunday, March 24 – 1:00 PM, at Jan Hus Church, 351 East 74th Street in New York, N.Y., as part of a Vox Novus Composer’s Voice and New York Women Composers Collaborative Concert Celebrating Women’s History Month. The piece will be presented as part of the concerts’ Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame segment.

The composer writes, “Goldi’s Wish, a one-minute mini-aria for soprano and piano, is adapted from my opera-for-all-ages, Goldilocks and The Three Bears, a Subito publication. What drives Goldilocks away from home to seek adventures in The Three Bears’ woods? This newly-written number illustrates why: Goldi yearns for freedom from parental constraints: “Just let me be me!”

Other composers who will be part of Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame are Beth Anderson, Erol Bugra Balci, Andrei Bogdanov, Inna Buganina, Anna Imaykina, Dmitry Kitsenko, Julie Mandel, Vitaliy Manyk, Evgenia Marchak, Daniel Minai, Richard Nye, Kala Peirson, Judi Silvano and Jose Jesus de Azevedo Souza.
