Chamber Players International’s Musical Cuisine series will present The Verdehr Trio in the fourth concert and brunch of its 2012-2013 season, on Sunday, April 14 at 12 noon at The Chateau at Coindre Hall, 101 Browns Road in Huntington, New York.

This program will feature Walter Verdehr, violin, Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr, clarinet and Silvia Roederer, piano, performing works by two Pulitzer Prize-winners, Jennifer Higdon’s Dash (2002) and Three Nocturnes (2004) by Kevin Puts. They’ll also perform Lake Samish, Op. 415 (1988) by Alan Hovhaness, Suite by Alexander Arutiunian, David Winkler’s Warhol Appassionata (2011), and works by Brahms, Tchaikovsky and George Gershwin.

Many of the works on this program are a retrospective survey of some of the over 200 works written for the Verdehr Trio over the past 40 years.  Presented are full length works as well as individual movements from a variety of works designed to showcase the diversity of styles and composers represented by the commissioned works.  Visit the Trio at http://www.verdehr.com/.
