Mezzo soprano Kathryn Findlen and pianist Charlie Magnone perform the piano/vocal compositions of Composer George Crumb at Spectrum of NYC on May 29th at 7pm, including Sun and Shadow (Lorca) and Apparition to Whitman’s When Lilacs Last In The Dooryard Bloomed.
“Findlen exudes confidence and grace. Her movements and expressions are private and sensual and I often felt as though we were peeking in on something we shouldn’t be watching.” -The Austin Post.
A veteran of New Music festivals Bang on a Can and Music X (Switzerland), Magnone has worked with composers Steve Reich, David Lang, and Matthias Pintscher, and is currently serving as program coordinator of Fast Forward Austin.
