Dear Friends,

Juventas New Music Ensemble announces its Spring/Summer Semi-Annual Call for Scores.  At least one composer may win the opportunity to have their work programmed in the 2014-2015 season.   Other compositions from this call may go into Juventas’ repertoire for programming in future seasons.  Juventas reserves the right to choose no winner if an entry of sufficient quality is not found.

For the upcoming season, Juventas is seeking chamber works by young, living composers for any instrumentation or length.  However, preference will be given to works that draw on the Juventas core instrumentation: flute (including piccolo and/or alto flute), clarinet (including Eb, Bb, and bass clarinet), violin, viola, cello, piano, and percussion. For the upcoming season(s), we are especially interested in:  Works for any combination of string instruments and/or flute influenced by non-western styles; solo works for any Juventas core instrument; Opera scenes or other staged works with piano or 1-3 instruments; Full-length opera for our annual opera project.  Additionally, all composers must be age 35 or under as of January 1st of the present year to be eligible for consideration.

The application deadline is July 11, 2014.

Details and application instructions are available at Any additional questions or comments can be directed to

We look forward to viewing and considering your scores, and wish you the absolute best.
