Sine and Syrinx: Young Australian Composers and Performers to Present Works for Voice and Electronics in New YorkPosted by s21concerts in Concert Announcement, tags: exhAust, ExhAust New Music, Jane Sheldon, music at first
Curated by acclaimed Australian soprano Jane Sheldon, the program includes works by both emerging and established composers Aristea Mellos, Amanda Cole, Rosalind Page, and Richard Vaudrey. The program is distinctive not only because of its Australian content, but also due to the fact that most of the composers featured are women, which is notable in an art form that tends to be heavily dominated by men.
ExhAust New Music collective is a group of Australian composers and performers committed to promoting the work of Australian musicians in New York. It has been active in its mission since 2011, and is co-directed and produced by Tim Hansen, Shaun Barlow and Lisa Moore.
