Those who have enjoyed Andrew Lee’s previous recordings for Irritable Hedgehog are in for another treat: his latest CD/digital release of music by Wandelweiser composer Jürg Frey (those who haven’t should visit the label’s website posthaste). Lee presents a committed performance in which Frey’s penchant for pianissimo passages, as well as his idiosyncratic use of repetitions and silences, are savored.
