The embedded track below, “Chorale Fantasy” from his new recording Native Informant on Naxos Records, sets a deeply buried chorale texture against Middle Eastern melodies and flashes of Brodsky Quartet style third stream gestures. An intricate amalgam to be sure, but neither fussy nor overreaching.
