Cutting Edge Concerts kicks off its sixteenth season at 7:30 PM on Monday, April 1st at Symphony Space. The program’s highlight is a presentation of Victoria Bond’s multimedia work Cyclops. Based on passages from the novel Ulysses by James Joyce, it includes music supplied by Pulse Chamber Ensemble and our friends Manhattan Choral Ensemble, actors from Irish Repertory Theatre, and projections by artist Timothy Decker. Pulse also premieres pieces by Charles Mason and Thomas Sleeper. And in convivial Joycean spirit, attendees are invited to bring a drink from the bar to their seats in the hall, to enjoy it as part of the pub atmosphere of this section of the Ulysses narrative.
The series also has concerts on 4/8 and 4/29.
