Thanks so much for this lovely piece about Mom! I'm so glad that you mentioned her opening remarks. I kept meaning to try to get back to them during the course of the afternoon and didn't manage to, as you will remember. It seemed to me that those comments sort of summed up, in advance, a lot of what is often concluded during a panel discussion on that topic. It was a real pleasure to finally meet you and I look forward to the next time! Thanks for mentioning my performance too!

Thanks for writing, Joseph. I tried to find you after the concert but didn’t succeed, just as I didn’t succeed in finding Margaret. Too big of a crowd! I should have mentioned in my post that your wonderful cycle “Songs of Enchantment and Wonder” was premiered on this concert, since it was the winner of the 2011 Margaret Vardell Sandresky Composition Competition. Great piece! As for Margaret’s hilarious personality, I couldn’t agree more: I wish I been half as quick-witted when I was fifty as she is at 90.

Hi Lawrence - long time lurker, first time poster. I wish I had known you were in the audience, I would have loved to say hello in person. That was such a wonderful concert and a great celebration for Margaret! It was my first exposure to her music and I enjoyed it very much, not to mention her absolutely hilarious personality. My favorites were the first piano piece (the bird painting, title escapes me) and the heavy metal-esque pedal part of that L'homme arme organ work near the end. Great concert!
