  1. Wow! Marco, Alex, this performance, music and video are mesmerizing; I was sucked in, pardon the pun… beautiful, eery, evocative; kind of made me want to walk into the sea and just keep going… this is what music is all about… feeling… congratulations.

  2. I really don’t really know what to say , other than I’m astonished!
This is a work full of forboding. My favorite parts were the deeper
    notes.

  3. Thank Jerry for posting this video! I’m happy to read that people like “Deep” – I love it! Thanks Alex for your kind words too.

As Alex mentioned already, the “Internet collaboration” started here (so Jerry, this video is your fault!), and everything has been done via Internet. I think we should try to use the tools that we have in our hands nowadays to promote our music, don’t you think so?

Thanks everyone for your positive comments!

    Marco

  4. Great! A sign of how powerful contemporary music can still be. In this case to scare the bejeezus out of us. More please !

  5. Thanks, guys! Marco is a fabulous player, really friendly, and open to anything you might want to send him. I had discovered him right here on S21 last April, when one of our comrades posted a video of him performing an electroacoustic work by Colasanto. So I dropped him an email and offered to transcribe my contrabassoon piece. Gotta love the internet.

Thanks for finding this, Jerry. The contrabassoon version of “Deep” is the last track on my new CD, Notes from the Kelp.

  6. I didn’t know that Anton LaVey played Contrabass Clarinet! This is a great piece filled with an ominous atmosphere of mystery and what might be lurking around the corner. Perfect music for All Saints Day. Beautiful textures and use of space. As always, a great job Alex.
